Training in Peace Corps Macedonia
In its commitment to provide quality training, Peace Corps has a training system which offers Volunteers and their counterparts continuous opportunities to increase their technical, language and cross-cultural skills.
Over the two-year Volunteer term of service, there are several training events. These include:
Pre-service Training (PST)
Objective: To provide Volunteers with solid language, technical and cross-cultural knowledge to prepare them for living and working successfully in Macedonia.
Time: The PST lasts for 11 weeks and it is held in the first three months of the Volunteer arrival in the country. Read More »
In-Service Trainings (ISTs);
Objective: To provide an opportunity for Volunteers and/or counterparts to upgrade their technical, language, and cross cultural skills while sharing their experiences.
Time: ISTs are usually 2-3 days long and are held throughout the Volunteer’s service.
Project Design and Management (PDM)
Objective: To provide Volunteers’ counterparts with the skills of starting up a project in their communities, performing needs assessment, preparing action plans, monitoring and evaluating projects and utilizing the resources their communities offer.
Time: PDM Workshop is 3 days long.
